Day 1 – Depart USA
Depart the USA for your international flight to Sarajevo! Meal service on-board.
Day 2 – Sarajevo
Upon landing in Sarajevo transfer to your hotel. On a guided tour of the city, visit the famous 15th-century bazaar that makes the city’s no.1 tourist attraction. Enjoy dinner in local restaurant. D
Day 3 – Sarajevo – Mostar
After breakfast depart to Mostar. Mostar old town features Ottoman-era architecture, vibrant markets and inviting restaurants along Neretva River. In the afternoon meet your local guide for a sightseeing tour. Cross Old Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage site that symbolizes reconciliation and the connection between diverse cultures. Visit a typical Mostar mosque. Dinner at a local restaurant. B, D
Day 4 – Mostar – Ston – Dubrovnik
After breakfast head to Croatia’s jewel of Adriatic: Dubrovnik. On the way stop in Ston, known for its 5-kilometer wall, delicious oysters and old salt ponds that still produce salt in the traditional way. Enjoy a delicious seafood lunch at a local restaurant. Continue to Dubrovnik. Traces of the city’s rich past are visible in the architectural beauty of the palaces, churches, and monasteries contained within its mighty walls, named on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Day 5 – Dubrovnik
Spend a full and enjoyable day in Dubrovnik getting to know this charming jewel of Croatia. Your local guide will take you to Old City starting with Pile Gate. From here, visit St. Savior Church and the Franciscan Monastery, housing the historic Old Pharmacy and what is considered to be the most beautiful late Romanesque cloister in Dalmatia. Other sites include Onofrio’s Fountain, Main Street Stradun, Orlando’s Column, the Bell Tower, Sponza Palace, Rector’s Palace, Old Green Market, St. Blase Church, and the 15th century Old City Port. In the afternoon, explore the city on your own. See Stadun, visit the famous city walls or take a cable car to the top of Mt. Srd, for some exceptional views of the city. Day 6 – Dubrovnik – Kotor – Budva
The day is dedicated for a full day tour to Montenegro, the “Jewel of the Mediterranean”. Drive towards the stunning Bay of Kotor, the longest and deepest fjord in Southern Europe. On to the charming coastal town of Perast where a short boat ride takes you to the 15th century “Our Lady of the Rocks” Church perched on an islet in the bay. Proceed to Kotor for a guided walking tour. View the Cathedral of St. Tryphon, Maritime Museum, numerous Palaces, and Old Square. Transfer to Budva for dinner at a local restaurant. B, D
Day 7 – Budva – Kruja – Tirana
After breakfast journey towards Albania. On the way, visit Kruja. The Kruje Castle now houses the Skanderbeg Museum, an ethnographic museum and the Dollma Tekke, a sacred place of Bektashism. Near the entrance to the castle, there is a medieval bazaar that offers a wide range of Albanian handicrafts such as embroidered items, carpets, silverware, traditional clothing, and antiques. In the afternoon continue to Tirana. Dinner at a local restaurant. B, D
Day 8 – Tirana
Today we will explore Tirana – the political and economic capital of the country. With your local guide, see the Skanderbeg Square featuring the statue of national hero Skanderbeg, the National Museum and Opera House. Visit Et’hem Bey Mosque and Tirana Closk Tower, offering panoramic views of the city. Spend the afternoon exploring the city on your own. Stop in one of the numerous cafes, explore local market or visit the Bunk’Art museums. In the evening enjoy a farewell dinner. B, D
Day 9 – Tirana – USA
Transfer to the airport for your return flight home with many new memories of your adventures in the Balkan countries! B
