Day 1 – Lima
Arrive in Lima. You’ll be met by a local representative and then transferred to your hotel.
Day 2 – Lima-Arequipa
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, visit Colonial and Modern Lima. On this tour you will visit the Cathedral, Main Square, San Francisco Convent and its Catacombs. Continue to the residential districts of San Isidro, Miraflores and finish at the ocean front. Return to the hotel around midday. Free afternoon at your leisure.
Day 3 – Arequipa
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning transfer to the airport for flight from Lima to Arequipa. Upon arrival you will be greeted and then travel to your hotel. In the afternoon, visit the city of Arequipa, starting with the Valley of Chilina and the old district of San Lazaro. Visit to the mummy Juanita (also known as “The Ice Maiden”). See the general view of the city from the Yanahuara Belvedere, the Plaza de Armas and its Cathedral, the cloisters of the Compañia Church and Church and Square of the San Francisco, and the Santa Catalina convent, which is built from volcanic lava and dates from the l6th century.
Day 4 – Arequipa-Cusco
Breakfast at the hotel. Early in the morning transfer to the airport and fly from Arequipa to Cuzco. Upon arrival transfer to your hotel. The morning is at your leisure. In the afternoon, visit the ruins of Qenqo, Puca-Pucara, Tambomachay and Sacsayhuaman. Continue to the city to visit the Main Square, the Cathedral with its Religious Art Museum, the Santo Domingo Church built on top of the Koricancha, Temple of the Sun during the Inca period.
Day 5 – Cusco-Machu-Picchu-Cusco
Breakfast at the hotel. Full-day excursion to the ruins of Machu Picchu, including train tickets, bus up to the ruins, entrance ticket, guided tour of Machu Picchu which is totally built of stone blocks, fitted with masterful precision. This fabulous city has houses, temples, warehouses, a large central square, all connected by narrow roads and steps, and is surrounded by terraces cut into the mountain side which were used for agriculture. In the afternoon, return by train to Cuzco.
Day 6 – Cusco-Urubamba-Valley-Cusco
Breakfast at the hotel. Full-day excursion to the Sacred Valley of Urubamba. Leave Cuzco by bus to the village of Pisac, founded during Colonial times, set at the foot of a hill crowned by the remains of an Inca city. Every day in the main square, people barter their products and artisans from all over the area sell their woven alpaca wool blankets and ponchos, engraved gourds, antique reproductions, and more. On Sundays it’s also the meeting place for mayors from all the villages in the region, dressed in their traditional costumes to attend morning mass. Have lunch at countryside restaurant and then visit Ollantaytambo. This is the only Inca town which is still inhabited. While here explore the ruins which tower above it. Return to Cuzco.
Day 7 – Cusco
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for your flight from Cuzco to Lima. Transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy!
Day 8 – Lima
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport and depart from Peru.
