Your grand tour begins with a flight to England.
Day 2 – London
Welcome to London where your Travel Selections courier will greet you and take you on a guided tour of Windsor Castle, the Queen’s weekend retreat and the largest castle in Europe still occupied.
Day 3 – London
Discover all the highlights on a guided London City Tour. See Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and more. Visit historic Westminster Abbey and take a tour of the British Museum, where th history of civilization awaits you.
Day 4 – London
Today is free for exploration. Option: Tour Stratford-upon-Avon, birthplace of Shakespeare. Option: Attend a West End theatre performance.
Day 5 – Paris
Travel under the English Channel to France. Arrive in Paris, the magical “City of Lights."
Day 6 – Paris
A Paris City Tour introduces you to the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, Les Invalides, the Champs Elysées and other highlights. Visit Notre Dame Cathedral and the Louvre, then travel to Versailles to tour King Louis XIV’s extravagant palace and stroll the opulent grounds.
Day 7 – Paris
Today is free for discovery. Option: Tour the Loire Valley, known as “The Garden of France. This evening, cruise the Seine on the Bateaux Mouches.
Day 8 – Vevey
Transfer to an ancient Swiss town facing the Savoy Alps, with Lake Geneva in the background.
Day 9 – Vevey
Tour the Vevey Museum of Games to see hundreds of games, toys and gadgets. Your afternoon is free. Option: Take the cogwheel train to Rochers-de-Naye for sweeping views of the Alps and Lake Geneva.
Day 10 – Florence
Travel to Florence, birthplace of the Renaissance and the artistic and intellectual capital of Italy.
Day 11 – Florence
Your Florence City Tour includes the Duomo, the Church of San Lorenzo and the Bargello. Visit the Accademia, home to Michelangelo’s famous sculpture, David. Shop for bargains in the Straw Market this afternoon. Option: Tour the Uffizi Gallery to see art masterpieces collected by the Medici family over the ages.
Day 12 – Rome
Journey by way of Assisi, a terraced city in the heart of Umbria. Arrive in Rome and enjoy an evening walking tour with your courier to the Spanish Steps, the Piazza Navona and the beautiful Trevi Fountain.
Day 13 – Rome
A guided Rome City Tour takes you to the Colosseum, the Forum, Circus Maximus and more. Visit Vatican City, St.Peter’s Basilica, and Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel in the Vatican Museum.
Day 14 – Venice
Travel to Venice, city of bridges and canals, via Bologna, a medieval university city.
Day 15 – Venice
Begin your Venice City Tour at the Piazza Roma and walk along the Grand Canal to see St. Mark’s Square, St. Mark’s Basilica, the Bridge of Sighs, the Clock Tower, and visit the magnificent Doges’ Palace. Venice is famous for its crystal, and you will also cruise to Murano Island for a glass-blowing demonstration.
Day 16 – Salzburg
Transfer to Austria across the Brenner Pass, and arrive in Salzburg, a famed resort and music center of picturesque streets with wrought-iron signs.
Day 17 – Salzburg
A guided Salzburg City Tour includes a visit to Mozart’s Birthplace. Also see Hohensalzburg, St. Peter’s Churchyard and other highlights. Your afternoon is free to explore this “Sound of Music” city.
Day 18 – Munich
Journey to Munich, stopping to tour the fairytale castle of Neuschwanstein, built by “mad’ King Ludwig. Arrive in the capital of Bavaria for a City Tour that includes the Marienplatz, the Frauenkirche, the Flower Market, the Glockenspiel, and a visit to the BMW Museum.
Day 19 – Munich
Today is free for discovery. Option: Tour the infamous Dachau concentration camp and memorial.
Day 20 – Heidelberg
Transfer via Ulm, stopping for lunch on the banks of the Danube. Arrive in the university city of Heidelberg and tour Heidelberg Castle to see the most romantic of the ruins. This afternoon you can stroll down the town’s avenues on the banks of the Neckar River and luxuriate in the old world charm of its shops and cafés.
Day 21 – Depart
