Day 1 – San José

Journey to beautiful Costa Rica. You’ll arrive in the cosmopolitan city of San José, altitude 3,770 feet above sea level, where your courier waits to greet you and escort you on a tour of downtown San José, including the National Theatre and the National Museum.

Day 2 – Los Angeles Cloud Forest Reserve

Today you travel through the town of San Ramon, known as the city of presidents and poets, to the Los Angeles Cloud Forest Reserve. You will have time to hike one of the reserve’s nature trails before lunch. Then, take a guided tour of the reserve or take an optional canopy tour. This tour, assisted by expert guides, takes you from tree to tree on a cable and pulley system.

Day 3 – Arenal Area

After a country breakfast, you will continue down the northern face of the Central Mountain Range. You will arrive in the Arenal area, just in time to enjoy the pool, thermal baths, and a crocodile farm. In the evening, your courier will escort you to the village of La Fortuna for dinner, exploration, and possibly some souvenir shopping.

Day 4 – Arenal Area

Transfer to Caño Negro Reserve and the town of Los Chiles. You will be close to the Nicaraguan border Board a motor launch for a river trek to the reserve. During your return trip down river, you will see a variety of tropical wildlife. Return to your hotel for a swim in the pool or a thermal bath. The rest of your evening is free.

Day 5 – Playa Hermosa

After breakfast you will head for the northern slope of the Arenal Volcano to the tropical rainforest with magnificent views of both the volcano and the lake. You will pass through rural villages on your way back up the Pacific Coast. After lunch, board rubber rafts for a Class One two-hour rafting trip down the Corobici River. This evening you will transfer to Playa Hermosa.

Day 6 – Playa Hermosa

Today you are free to check out the beach of this lovely resort area. This afternoon you can take an optional turtle nesting tour while soaking up the tropical sun.

Day 7 – San José

This morning you are free to enjoy the beach. Consider an early start transferring to San José so you will have time for a trip to Moravia to shop and pick up some souvenirs.

Day 8 – San José - USA

Depart Costa Rica on your return flight to the USA.
