Day 1 – Depart USA
Jet through the night to London.
Day 2 – London
Welcome to the largest city in Europe! A private bus and driver will escort you on a London City Tour. See Piccadilly Circus, Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Fleet Street, the Houses of Parliament, St. Paul’s and Big Ben. Continue to Westminster where you’ll tour the formidable Westminster Abbey, site of royal weddings and coronations.
Day 3 – London
Explore Windsor Castle, the weekend retreat of the royal family and the largest castle in Europe still inhabited. See the Round Tower built by Henry II, St. George’s Chapel, the State Apartments and Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House. Option: Enjoy a West End theatre performance tonight.
Day 4 – Paris
Travel to France via the Chunnel under the English Channel, one of the greatest engineering marvels in history.
Day 5 – Paris
On today’s Paris City Tour you will see all the highlights including the Eiffel Tower, the Champs-Elysées, and l’Etoile with the Arc de Triomphe. Tour the Gothic masterpiece, Notre Dame Cathedral, and visit the Louvre, the largest museum on earth.
Day 6 – Paris
Travel through the Barbizon Woods and tour the Palace and Park of Fontainebleau. The palace, with its famous horseshoe staircase, became a state monument in 1871 and is among the most visited sites in France. Option: Take a Bateaux Mouches cruise on the romantic Seine. Sail past the Eiffel Tower, the Trocadero, the Grand Palais, the Petit Palais, the Alexandre III Bridge, the Pont Neuf and the Petit Pont.
Day 7 – Nice
Board France’s high-speed train, the TGV and journey to Avignon. A city overview will introduce you to this artistic medieval city that was home to the first French popes. See the Palais de Papes, noble mansions, venerable churches, and the famous Pont du Avignon. Continue through Provence to the vibrant city of Nice on the French Riviera. An Evening Walking Tour includes the Place Masséna, a broad and noble square with sculptured fountains that is the heart of the city. Framed by the château and Cours Saleya, the old town of Nice is replete with little pastel house where fisherman once lived.
Day 8 – Nice
Travel to the hilltop village of Eze for a million-dollar view over the Côte d’Azur and a visit to a perfume factory. Later tour the elegant city state of Monaco to see the casino of Monte Carlo and the Palais du Prince. This little independent principality is known for its beautiful stamps, the Grand Prix race and its royal family. Visit the Musée Océanographique with its renowned aquarium founded by Jacques Cousteau. Return to Nice for a free afternoon.
Day 9 – Depart
Return home with fond memories of days in three fabulous European cities.
