Day 1– Depart USA
Depart for Europe.
Day 2 – London
Welcome to England! Your private bus and driver will escort you to your hotel or introduce you to your host family. Later, on your London City Tour, see Piccadilly Circus, Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Fleet Street, the Houses of Parliament, St. Paul’s and Big Ben. Continue to Westminster where you’ll tour the formidable Westminster Abbey, site of numerous royal weddings and coronations.
Day 3 – London
Explore Windsor Castle. You’ll see the Round Tower, Henry VIII’s Gateway, and St. George’s Chapel. Then cross an actual drawbridge to the Tower of London. The Tower has also housed the Royal Mint and served as a prison. Today it houses a noteworthy collection of royal and historical artifacts.
Day 4 – London
Enjoy a free day to discover more of the largest city in Europe. You may wish to pick up a few souvenirs or venture over to lively Covent Garden to check out the street performers.
Day 5 – Paris
Transfer to France via the Channel Tunnel.
Day 6 – Paris
Bienvenu à Paris, the most magical city in the world! On a Paris City Tour see the Eiffel Tower, the Champs-Elysées and l’Etoile with the Arc de Triomphe. Stop at the Gothic masterpiece, Notre Dame Cathedral.You’ll also visit the Louvre, the largest museum on earth. Later, enjoy a Bateaux Mouches Cruise on the Seine. View the monuments of France from a unique perspective as you take in the brilliance of the lights of Paris after nightfall.
Day 7 – Paris
Tour the Palace of Versailles, home of Louis XIV, the Sun King. Walk through its fabulous galleries, including the Hall of Mirrors, where the Treaty of Versailles was signed. Enjoy a stroll through the sumptuous formal gardens to see the many fountains and statues.
Day 8 – Paris – Madrid
Fly to Madrid, and right away enjoy a Madrid City Tour to the Plaza de España, Royal Palace, Gardens of Sabatini, the Plaza de Oriente, the Royal Church of San Francisco el Grande, Puerto de Toledo and the Atocha. Visit the elegant Prado Museum and be sure to see Goya’s Majas and Three Graces by Rubens.
Day 9 – Madrid
Today you’ll visit Toledo, a city rich in religious, political and artistic history. See the El Greco masterpieces in the Cathedral, the Old Synagogue, and the Church of Santo Tomé. You’ll also visit a sword workshop. In the evening you have the option of attending a Flamenco Performance.
Day 10 – Madrid
Journey into the ancient city of Ávila, city of stones, city of saints and amazingly well-preserved 12th century walls. Next stop at El Escorial, site of the beautiful Monastery of San Lorenzo el Real. Then visit the Valley of the Fallen. Located in the Guadarrama Mountains, this monument was built to honor those slain in the Spanish Civil War. Continue to Segovia to see its magnificent Roman aqueduct and visit the imposing Alcázar.
Day 11 – Madrid
Return home with your cherished memories of London, Paris and Madrid.
