Day 1 – San Juan
Depart from the mainland. Arrive in San Juan and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2 – San Juan
Begin with an introduction to San Juan this morning. Visit the Old City on a walking tour that takes you through 500 years of Spanish Colonial history. See the 16th century
El Morro Castle, which is actually a fortress that was designed to secure Havana Bay. Enjoy the balance of your evening at leisure to shop, sightsee or relax on the beach.
Day 3 – San Juan
Begin your day early with an excursion to the only rainforest in the U.S. Forest System, El Yunque. The 28,000 acre park is lush with tropical vegetation and makes a hospitable home for many varied species of animals. Marvel at this natural wonder, perhaps taking a cool dip in La Mina Falls. In the afternoon, travel on to Luquillo Beach for free time to relax before returning to San Juan.
Day 4 – San Juan
Depart on your full day trek to the spactacular underground caverns of Rio Camuy. This underground river is the third-largest of its kind in the world. Also visit Cornell University’s Arecibo Observatory, which operates the world’s largest radio telescope. Return to San Juan for the evening.
Day 5 – Return
Depart Puerto Rico for the mainland.
