As the center for international business, entertainment, fashion and style, this is a town that really never sleeps! With its many neighborhoods and diverse population, New York has a culture all of its own. Theaters, nightclubs, shops and restaurants draw millions of visitors annually. Your four days here will give you the opportunity to discover the wonders of this city first hand.
Day 1 – New York City
Board your flight for the “Big Apple.” Your group will be met at the airport by your private bus and guide to transfer you to the hotel.
Day 2 – New York City
Where better to begin a tour of New York than at the top of the Empire State Building! From this elevation you can see all of Manhattan and some of the other boroughs as well. The tour will then take you to Greenwich Village, Chinatown, Soho, and Little Italy, where you will learn about the various ethnic groups that give New York its flavor and diversity. Also see the famous Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the United Nations Headquarters, Times Square, Wall Street, Central Park, Carnegie Hall, the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and other highlights of the exciting “city that never sleeps.”
Day 3 – New York City
Visit Ground Zero-National September 11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center Foundation downtown and spend some contemplative time at the Exhibition. The Museum displays artifacts associated with the tragic events of 9/11, while presenting stories of loss and recovery. Afterwards, take a ferry ride from Battery Park out to the Statue of Liberty, where you can photograph the amazing skyline before heading to Ellis Island to learn about the early settlers. The people of France gave the Statue, standing 151’1” from base to torch, to the people of the United States over 130 years ago in recognition of the friendship established during the American Revolution. Over the years, the Statue of Liberty has grown to include freedom and democracy as well as this international friendship. Your afternoon is free for exploration with your advisor. No visit to New York City would be complete without a shopping expedition. Why not explore the great stores that line Fifth Avenue, visit Bloomingdales, Tiffany’s and Macy’s. Pick out some fun souvenirs to take home or the latest in fashion at one of New York’s trendy stores. Option: This evening, head down through the Upper West Side and walk through the Theater District, the nightlife capital of the country, to see an exciting Broadway Theater production.
