Day 1 USA – Buenos Aires
Depart the USA for the flight to Buenos Aires.
Day 2 – Buenos Aires
Welcome to Buenos Aires. Your local courier will meet you at the airport and assist you with the transfer to your hotel.
Day 3 – Buenos Aires
After breakfast, depart on a guided tour of Buenos Aires’ historical highlights. Buenos Aires is often referred to as “the Paris of South America.” The city is renowned for its many beautiful parks, tree-lines boulevards, botanical gardens, fountains and monuments. Your tour will include the National Gallery, National Museum, the Teatro Colon Opera House and Auditorium. Take a stroll amongst the mausoleums of the world-renowned Recoleta Cemetery. Mingle with the street dancers, buskers and artisans in the historic La Boca and Caminito districts, considered the birthplace of the Tango. Continue on through the many plazas, viewing the major government buildings and other stunning examples of architecture from the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Your afternoon is free to explore the city at your own pace.
Day 4 – Buenos Aires
After breakfast, head to Estancia Susana, where you will experience “Fiesta Gaucha”, with traditional song, dance, gauchos horsemanship and an asado lunch. The key to the asado lies in the preparation of the fire, with no flames but red hot coals. The asado is a special culinary art perfected and refined by Los Gauchos.
Day 5 – Buenos Aires – Iguazu Falls
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for a short flight to Iguazu Falls. Located in the far northeast portion of Argentina, the falls share a border with Brazil. Upon arrival at Cataratas del Iguazu airport, your private bus and driver will transfer to your hotel in Puerto Iguazu.
Day 6 – Iguazu Falls
Today after breakfast, transfer to the main gates of Parque Nacional del Iguazu. Experience a nature cruise on the Iguazu River. See Coatimundi, Tapirs, and exotic birds. Your tour will have you riding in a 4×4 truck, a zodiac raft trip on the upper Iguazu River and a high-speed power boat on the gorge. See the falls from the catwalks high above, and take a train ride to the Devil’s Throat.
Day 7 – Iguazu Falls – Buenos Aires
Travel to see the Three Nations Monument located at the confluence of two rivers. Continue to the Guia Oga Nature Reserve for a nature walk. Then, transfer to the airport for your return flight to Buenos Aires. The remainder of the day is free. This evening, enjoy the tango dancers while you dine. Join in afterwards, as tango lessons are included!
Day 8 – Buenos Aires
After an early breakfast, transfer to the terminus to embark on a ferry boat to historical Colonia del Sacramento, founded in 1531 by the Spanish. See the historic Spanish fortress, as well as the famous Colonia lighthouse.
Day 9 – Buenos Aires – Depart
This morning, depart on a full day excursion to the Rio de la Plata Delta, traveling in a combination of tour coach, train & river boat, accompanied by an English speaking guide. Enjoy this nature reserve with its wildlife and colorful market. At the end of the cruise, pause for a late lunch before transferring to the airport for your overnight flight to the USA. Meals will be served on-board the flight.
Day 10 –Arrival
